  • The Museum is located next to the beautiful Romanesque church of San Pietro, that until the establishment of the Museum kept The san Giovenale triptych, an early work by Masaccio, a native of nearby San Giovanni, dating from 1422. The Museum has a media apparatus that even without guided tour allows you to know all about triptych and many other works of Masaccio and his life. The Museum houses then as well as vestments, chasubles, former votum also other nice boards, including one from the workshop of Ghirlandaio, by Bronzino. The steps some photos allow you to see the Church in its Baroque appearance, before restoration that has brought it back to its original appearance and upstairs a few interesting documents from the historical archives of the parish church, which was one of two matrices of the historic territory. The Museum is open in the afternoon even on holidays, at the ticket office told me that a few times a year organise guided but not on the day when I did. The Museum is small, it doesn't take long to see it but it definitely deserves a visit.
