Casa Leopardi, Recanati

4.3
#1 of 134 in Things to do in Province of Macerata
Specialty Museum Museum
The vineyards of Casa Leopardi blanket the Recanati slopes that face the sea. You can tour the winery amidst the vines to see the fermenting process and cellars. First, though, your erudite guide will introduce you to the Leopardi history. The family has been cultivating wines since 1100, mainly for personal consumption. Family documents, however, show that the Leopardi palace cellars stored local varieties rather similar to today's. Take a look at our Recanati vacation builder to schedule your visit to Casa Leopardi and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • You look out the window through which impresses Leopards spied Teresa (Silvia). A spectacular Library. Out of those books was formed. Very interesting. The Guide, a girl, little available to answer questions because they are too precise to respect the time of the visit.

  • Visit the library, thanks to very good guide, is really fascinating and encourages personal insights. Exploring the vastness of the collection, it is almost tempting to extract one and read it. Even just looking at the titles of the volumes curiosity grows more and more! Our visit, on Friday at noon, was very quiet, there were too many people. A visit to the House of "Silvia" completes the great suggestions elicited from the piazzetta and the whole setting in General.

  • The library retains the volumes on which studied leopards. The guide was clear and exhaustive explanations ... shame about the extreme heat.

  • Well preserved area of this quaint village, with the palatial home of Romantic poet Giacomo Leopardi, famous for his existential poems amongst which ''The Infinite''
  • In a small square, probably one of the most beautiful in Italy, stands the Palace of the family. Guided tours with expert guides. And you find yourself in the world of the great poet. Highly recommended

  • Very nice building, although it was not possible to visit all because you dwell within. Staff are very friendly and willing to answer any questions.
