  • We inarpicati walk from Radicofani for visiting this marvellous fortress which stands the town of the city and the show was fulfilling. The fortress is well kept with even a small museum inside; from the tower you can enjoy an exceptional view of the valle d'Orcia. Worth it for walking although it could reach even in machine

  • The ascent to this magnificent fortress is worth a visit. It's the whole of Tuscany and of the province of Siena, which has materialized. The view from here up is worth the climb... To visit the place, enjoy a stay in Radicofani, where you'll be beautifully welcomed by residents... Around this volcano beats the heart of Tuscany. This place is also one of the points of the Via Francigena, the road connecting Rome to the France. A visit in any season!

  • The fortress is situated on a hill that dominates the town of Radicofani. Its grandeur and beauty make it a magical place that brings visitors into the middle ages. Beautiful the Tower from which you can admire a breathtaking panorama. A must read up on the noble family who built the fortress and its vicissitudes.

  • Maybe the best view over Toscana, great architecture and impressive historic importance.
  • Not a lot to see up here apart from a great view around the valley.
  • The view from this place is incredible!!!!! You will be looking down at airplanes!!!! It is a rugged fortress that will have you imagining what medieval life was like. The trip up to the top of the tower is well worth the many steps you will climb. The cost to enter the grounds is 2 euro each.
  • The Radicofani fortress stands at the top of a volcanic vent (formed from one million years) on the eastern slopes of monte Amiata (latest volcano which has 300,000 years ago). Nearly a thousand meters between the straw and the val d'Orcia, controlled the transit on the via Cassia and was resting place of the via Francigena. From the tower you can enjoy a beautiful view at 360°. The fortress is related the name of Ghino di Tacco, mentioned by Dante and Boccaccio.
