  • the castle is really great and the space and the surronding really actractive! it has much more of history of what you may think at the beginning  more »
  • Racalmuto Castle was built during the Norman domination and exactly at the time of the barony of Roberto Malcovenant, a Frenchman in the retinue of King Ruggero d'altavilla. Frederick of Aragon moved the ownership of the Castle and the surrounding fief to Federico II Chiaramonte. Right to the family home should enlargement of the fortress: Catcher today has a majestic appearance. The Township of Racalmuto grew up around the Castle. The castle is an excellent example of military architecture say Swabian period, with a trapezoidal shape, round towers, the layout of the portal and of the secondary entrances: Details the Windows arranged façade without symmetry and the thick walls about two metres. The left Tower is original, and the image on the right has been restored recently.

  • Very interesting site where the actual historical Museum of banners and the frescoes in the churches of Racalmuto is expanding thanks to the acquisition that the Administration has made of the remainder that was privately owned and used as a private house. This new part is now used for exhibitions and events. A good encouragement to those who have made important choices of this kind ... not only on culture
