  • Built in mid of the year 1000 is one of the best preserved castles of Matilda of Canossa, now is owned by the municipality of Quattro Castella, Reggio Emilia. It is also one of the castles of the circuit of Matilda more alive because l Tourism Office organizes many initiatives such as guided tours to the interiors, archaeological routes, tasting of balsamic vinegar, wines and other products doc, historical children's workshops, poetry readings, concerts, exhibitions, book presentations, etc. The entrance to the Castle costs 5 euros, that the Park is free. To the restaurant below "Bianello" you eat well and goes with his gaze on the hills of Appennino Reggiano. Near this castle are other Castels worth seeing such as the castle of Canossa and the castle of Carpineti.

  • Castle in the area that has preserved better its charms, properly has been well preserved over time, a few years ago it was bought by the municipality of Quattro Castella and is now available to the general public. Being on top of a hill nice to walk up to the Castle a health. When we went as a family we drive the pleasure of having a welcome guide that explained very well what is the history of the monument, really interesting children were fascinated by the story is out of place. Absolutely worth a visit, as some would say another little piece of Italian history too often considered as a must. Vistatelo.

  • Once again I found it closed ... Unfortunately all four castles of Tuscany are not always open to visitors and find them too decadent.
