Ruin Tourist Spot
The ancient Roman and pre-Roman archaeological site of Area Archeologica di Nora is an open-air museum, which includes a theater, tower, baths, forum, and mosaics. Take a guided tour through the ruins to hear in-depth detail about the site. The ruins lie at the edge of the sea--some even sit underwater as Sardinia slowly sinks into the ocean--and the optional climb of the tower offers better views. • Great location, reasonable mosaics on view but have seen much better around Europe and North Africa. Call in at Pula on the way for sustenance in the village square.  more »

  • Amazing roman, Punic and Phoenician ruins, some of them very well conserved. You can actually see the three different cities and architecture with a special mention to the Roman theatre and beautiful mosaics. And all that in a beautiful place, with the sea at both sides, a Spanish tower up the hill and a white sand beach at walking distance. It's recommended to go by car but i took a bus without problem, just having to walk for 20 minutes or so. The entrance is 7'50€ which includes a guided tour to both the ruins and the tower.
  • There is more ....the sea here covers more of the ancient ruins...we still don't know the original origins of the first people 800 BC or the story to follow ...the story is only just beginning and I hope the Sardinians get to finish this gem they have ...they should be proud to have it x
  • This unique archaeological site is ideal to combine your relaxing holiday with your passion for history. Partially underwater, the ancient city of Nora was built on a scenic location and give us a picture of preroman and roman civilizations. A nearby fortified tower, now used as lighthouse, tell us about the spanish empire era and more recent times. I would define it as a pearl in the mediterranean sea.
  • Very beautiful, but bring good shoes - no flipflops!
  • Very interesting, the view from the Spanish tower is breathtaking and the guides are very experienced and nice
