  • This beautiful, village, has a history dating back to the first century. A very curious thing I've read in the document is attached to this village, there is the figure of 1 brigand who was hired by Duke Charles Emmanuel I of Savoy in 1671. His name was Sebastiano Contrary and assaults, was to discourage the passage of people and goods the Genoese from Colle dei Signori and the Crescent. Also participated in the defense of the castle of Castelvecchio of 1672. Despite agreements with the Duke, the popular legends report that he also felt sorry assail caravans of Savoy. From this dual role, appears to have originated the expression "contrary Mary". Cute, No? Apart from legends, is a very pleasant, although it seems a bit empty (we, we saw only 1 bar). If you go to visit the caves of Toirano, be sure to go there.

  • Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena is a pretty village in the Ligurian hinterland. From Pietra Ligure is approximately 28 km to go the first part and olive trees in the Woods the rest of the way. If you get a cloudy day at the beach or if you want to take a break from the noise of the sea come here! Borgo di pietra tastefully renovated preserving the existing features. It is a pleasure to stroll through the stone away and discover typical corners of this country.

  • We visited this medieval town with great pleasure. It is located outside the noise of the Riviera. In addition there are very few tourists, and the air is fresh. However it is mandatory to go with your own vehicle and parking are rare. Maybe it's the price to pay for a genuine visit?
