  • Premise 1: the Sammezzano Castle is closed for the time being. Premise 2: the castle of Sammezzano can be visited, for the moment, only on special occasions and through the work of a group of volunteers. Premise 3: the castle was abandoned for many years. Made the necessary premises, we can talk about the Park of Sammezzano. There is no doubt that he would need routine maintenance and repairs, but its appeal is out of the question. It's gorgeous in all seasons, in the morning or afternoon. In the fall, however, is to take your breath away! Visit it without prejudice and without expect viali di villa Borghese. Sammezzano is Sammezzano. Don't pass by the Park just to get to the Castle.

  • By the geocaching we are there by the woods near the Castle. Once there, we were shocked that it is in a State of decay. What sins. On the Internet we can read that they want to fix up but if it's still long will need it any more. I hope that the authorities soon may start for road rot. ...

  • Well what can I say: excellent, you remain speechless admiring so much beauty, the dream of the Orient with the sum of many cultures in one place. The mad genius of Marquis Panciatichi was the realization of this castle of which we were lucky enough to be within the rare visits organized by the Committee to save this immense artistic heritage. The Peacock Room, the Hall of mirrors, of music, of lovers, India, Spain, from the throne, to Iran. And all the Woods around, with ancient trees, the twin Redwoods, trees of 10 meters in diameter, the wonder of wonders. For me and my husband has fulfilled a dream that hunted for years, who will take home as one of the finest trips we have made, perhaps the most beautiful, certainly the most beautiful indeed. • I used to stay here as a child with my parents many moons ago when it used to be a Hotel. I still remember the nice staff that always played with my brothers and me while my parents went to close by Florence for business. And of course the amazing rooms inside. The Hotel was always empty and we had the place so to speak to ourselves. It is such a shame that the place closed down and is currently just falling apart - due to a 'conflict' between the current owners. I had the luck of arranging a visit, and all these fairytale memories of mine about this place came back to live and proofed to be not just a dreams...
