The territory of the town of Presicce is, in Salento, the one with the largest number of trappeti in the cave. The use of dig them in very old and chalky rock is due to two reasons: 1. the need to maintain a certain warmth to prevent solidification of oil (around 6°), 2. the cost of labor to dig them was relatively modest, requiring only force and not specialization. We paid € 6 per person to visit 2 oil mills and another group of people continued with a tour in the borghetto of Presicce but I cant tell if they paid more than us or not.show original

Also interesting is finding out that once the oil production was comestibili not as fuels and purposes today. Very well maintained and enhanced. I hope that it can bring even more tourism to the area. The visit we made after the 19:00 when it is cooler and one was able even to return from the sea. The visit is headed ... you just need to register in the appropriate tourist office. The same guided tour also includes several other attractions.show original
