Isola Di Dino, Praia A Mare

(550+ reviews on the web)
Island Nature / Park
The larger of Calabria's two islands, Isola Di Dino once hosted a temple dedicated to Venus. Once the scene of dramatic battles and pirate raids, the island has passed through the hands of many different political powers throughout history. The small island has only 3 km (1.8 mi) of rocky coastline, none of which is beach. However, there are plenty of other interesting sites, including a tower of Norman origin, six different marine grottos best visited by boat, and a number of walking trails with lovely views. Check in town for information about island excursions and tours. Put Isola Di Dino and other Praia A Mare attractions into our Praia A Mare tour planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • I cant believe a place like this is still a secret to the big crowds! Make sure you get one of the compleate tours that also go to the Blue Grotto and the Arcomagno.  more »
  • Dino Island is very similar to the coast in Capri, and it also a Blue Grotto, much more beautiful than the one in Capri. Also Dino Island is not as touristic, meaning more genuine and much cheaper!  more »
