Monte Nuovo Beach, Pozzuoli

2.4
#2 of 8 in Beaches in Pozzuoli
Monte Nuovo is a cinder cone volcano within the Campi Flegrei caldera, near Naples, southern Italy. A series of damaging earthquakes and changes in land elevation preceded its only eruption, during the most recent part of the Holocene, which lasted from September 29 to October 6, 1538, when it was formed. The event is important in the history of science because it was the first eruption in modern times to be described by a large number of witnesses.Volcanologists feared another eruption between 1969 and 1984, when there were again earthquakes and changes in land elevations in the area.

  • If you go to a beautiful beach are looking for you've come not in the right place. Located right next to the railway line. The whole makes a rather messy impression. Only access for an additional fee. Walk on the beach not possible. In October very quiet. Maybe it's summers more fun? But would not go again.

  • The Sea you can not clean but the beach at least you. Line to get in (I wonder then what), expensive, uncomfortable bed, massed on a beach full of cards, cigarette butts, cans, bottles etc. Etc. Thanks to this cluster I also met the tax code of my neighbors crib. Dirty bathrooms. A sausage factory. Let us add that we are not for nothing polite ... and there you have the picture. I hope they choose to restrict access to favour quality over quantity

  • Enter through the bar, where you pay for a place where you choose. Sun beds by the sea cost 6 euro, very comfortable with a roof over your head from the Sun. The beach is clean, the sea in this area too, the cleanest srovnym flat bottom. The beach is sandy, dark volcanic sand, very pleasant, bland. The beach is small in size, but sentjajure people a little, so that in the morning you can even stay there alone. Works with 9 to 18. Near dajvingklub

  • why would you build your homes on a volcanic island. doesn't make any sense. when it erupts lava will destroy everything in its path
  • The new mount is the most recent of several volcanoes exist in the phlegraean area. Is the product of an eruption in 1538, which lifted and destroyed the village of Trecase and radically altered the coastline and Lake Lucrino. Today, seen from afar, it's a lush hillock of about 130 meters covered with pines, Oaks, holm oaks, eucalyptus and Mediterranean maquis. There are various paths leading to the edge of the crater, which is almost completely viable and which offers a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Pozzuoli, Capo Miseno, part of the Gulf of Naples, Ischia, Procida, Capri and Nisida. When the sea is calm and clear on certain occasions it is possible to see the remains of the submerged Portus Julius. It would be good for nature and landscape of prime importance if someone decides to take care of them. It is not enough, the commitment of the owners of the side facing the Via Domiziana or stables Manager which operates on the same side to keep several acres of bushland in good condition and securely. Almost all ancient pines, in fact, died as a result, apparently, of a parasite infesting. On the side of municipal property, instead, to which access is between Lucrino and Arco Felice, a fire, favored by the carelessness of the undergrowth, he destroyed, last year, the trees, the seafront. Ad hoc intervention would be necessary to secure and make available this could be a great travel resource.
