  • Flavian Amphitheater is one of the two existing Roman amphitheatres to Pozzuoli and dates from the second half of the 1st century AD. Very large and well maintained, was built by the same architect of the Colosseum to cope with the increase in population of Puteoli, which had rendered unfit for building the old public performances in the Republican era. In addition, this beautiful Amphitheater is second only to the Coliseum and the amphitheatre Campano for capacity. Today is just a few hundred metres from where the coast line, in Pozzuoli, just a few steps from the train station of Pozzuoli Solfatara. Visited by Italian and foreign tourists ... I hope the renovation of certain areas of the site will soon be completed to make it accessible to tourists all parts of this wonder.

Inside there are even the media on which were placed the cages with wild animals, the upper opening for which cages savages went out in the arena and then were made fall
