Recently restored, the tower is partially visitable in some circles: warehouses and cisterns to collect the grains on the ground floor, vaulted in stone and brick, and some large halls decorated on the upper floors accessible by a daring scale, wood and steel. Fine example of seigniorial House of time!show original

The charger at the time considered one of the most important in Sicily, is a complex of warehouses including slides and jetties to facilitate the loading of the goods on sailing ships. The loader was built by the counts of Modica and seen its importance the decision was made to build a tower that he had meant to defend against external attacks. The tower was named after count Bernardo Cabrera who authorized the construction. Inside the Tower took military service that were over and positioned on the terrace were cannons ready to defense. Inside the Tower sadly not much to visit, you can admire the times depicting the family symbol Cabrera, in sotterrerai you can watch the rocks where the tower was placed before the coast changes the conformation of the landscape and the famous well of death (where prisoners were lowered and get carried away by high tide). If you look from the Windows you can admire the view of the Mediterranean Sea. The tower was opened recently after restoration, I recommend a visit, because it is worth it.show original
