  • In the last half of our tour around the fascinating Venetian Villas in Possagno we met up close that Canova's genius. The Museum is in the residence and collects over three floors a collection of paintings, some famous statues in plaster and examples of the manufacturing stages to produce those marble statues starting from the sketch. In an adjoining massive plaster casts are then exposed many or perhaps all plaster models from which have been carved into the marble all those well known works of master Canova scattered throughout the world. The gem in the home is that famous Venus Italica exposed in the middle of one room ... exciting! However none the less are other casts as the graces and the various interpretations of Venus and as well as historical figures. Everything is well organized. Fovoloso and not to be missed!

  • This museum is located House of Cánovas and is absolutely worth a visit. Only there can discretion how expensive is making these works of art of time and energy. First, it goes through the House and then one ends up in the white shining highly impressive Gypsothek with models of various sculptures, monuments and tombstones. If one walks through the courtyard can be seen is an introductory film in an adjoining room. An extension from the modern period, which harmoniously integrates itself, was created by the famous Italian architect Carlo Scarpa. So one in the area is worth a detour.

  • Beautiful place, especially the original wing of the structure reminiscent of a temple in classical style, and very beautiful chalk exposed; I like the fact that there are all the stages of creation of some jobs, from the study of nude with the copy which is then reproduced in marble. Only downfall the bitter cold (which, however, depends on the proper preservation of works) and the scarce presence of descriptions of various masterpieces, which would be especially useful to understand the choices the artist to represent the subject in a certain way, or to point out some small details.

  • The most complete collection of Canova chalks, with an amazing light in the Carlo Scarpa building
  • Nice place with many fascinating statues
  • A must-see museum. Also the zone is really typical.
  • Very interesting, is how to make the rounds of museums around the world where there are works by Canova. Shame to miss the most beautiful: psyche and love. It seems that the teacher has created a cast of this opera. The museum visit in about an hour. Outside there is a small garden with various species of plants, very cute. Entrance 10 euros, 6 If you first is visited one of Palladio's villas

  • In the Gallery are preserved preparatory chalks some of the sculptures by Antonio Cavona. You can't help but be fascinated by these works, although present imperfect surfaces, excite as the originals. In the Museum there is a room in which discusses techniques and tools used by Canova and his assistants for the realization of sculptures.
