Spiaggia Grande, Positano

3.2
#3 of 7 in Beaches in Amalfi Coast
Beach Nature / Park
Lounge in the sun or go for a swim at Spiaggia Grande. Facing the sea you will get views of the clear water. Facing away from the sea, you can enjoy the scenery of the town of Positano, with its winding cobblestone streets leading to the beach. Tour nearby shops, visit the bars or restaurants, or catch a ferry to a nearby restaurant or beach. Sun loungers are available for rent. If swimming, be careful as you enter the water, the pebbles drop off suddenly into slightly deeper water. A safety barrier keeps boats from entering the swimming area. • It is right in the Centre, you can go to the free bit of beach but it is fairly chaotic, is beside where boats leave and on the other side of the bit of the "positanenses" that occupy you the sea. You have a spa payment aside 15 to €20 each, expensive but you garantizás you a deck chair, sunshade and peace of mind because it is much less populated and the portion of beach is much larger. It is sand and stones, but water and the landscape are incredible.

  • Having the hotel in Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi ee having a scooter, we had decided to visit Positano for the first time. What a show! We were so pleasantly surprised we came back for 3 times. Of course, the bathroom, the spell is quite expensive (15 euro per day per person for umbrella in the third row), and also restaurants and shops are not cheap, but it is known that Positano is not cheap. There are however also open beach and bars/ice cream parlours with average prices. However the beach not too crowded, beautiful sea and breathtaking!

  • Spiaggia Beach is made of pebbles, not sand like you have with beaches in Mexico and the Carribean but in one way I prefer the pebble beach. There is no sand sticking to your skin or clothes The pebbl...  more »

Where to stay in Positano

With some of Amalfi Coast's finest hotels and restaurants, Positano attracts an affluent crowd of tourists. Hotel rooms aren't cheap, but they do offer unbeatable views of the coastline. For the ultimate luxury experience, stay at one of the city's private villa-hotels, offering comfortable rooms and access to rooftop terraces, private swimming pools, and lush backyards. Stay in Positano if you prefer urban attractions, but if you want to escape the crowds, consider one of the fishing villages in the vicinity of the city.
