Trip Planner: Europe / Italy / Campania / Province of Salerno / Amalfi Coast / Positano / Spiaggia Grande
Lounge in the sun or go for a swim at Spiaggia Grande. Facing the sea you will get views of the clear water. Facing away from the sea, you can enjoy the scenery of the town of Positano, with its winding cobblestone streets leading to the beach. Tour nearby shops, visit the bars or restaurants, or catch a ferry to a nearby restaurant or beach. Sun loungers are available for rent. If swimming, be careful as you enter the water, the pebbles drop off suddenly into slightly deeper water. A safety barrier keeps boats from entering the swimming area. Before you head to Positano, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Positano travel itinerary planner, to make sure you see all that Positano has to offer, including Spiaggia Grande.

Spiaggia Grande reviews
Main beach in Amalfi, where everyone goes. There is only a part that is public, so not much space, if it is a busy day. more »
We used the area to the North of the beach, close to the ferry boarding area, along with a lot of locals. Just take your own towel. Not the best sand - dark and course, so it gets very hot... more »
22.50€ per person !!!!!!!!!..for a absolutely average beach..luckly we Went to the right from the boat parking and u can swim there for free........... more »
Beautiful town, loved the windy streets and shops. The public beach was perfect for a dip.
Quaint, plenty of steps, bit untidy
The beach was great respite after arrival. It was sufficient since it was October and we weren’t there to swim. The black sand is soft but the pebble stones by the water call for shoes.
The town is very beautiful but not the beach. You will find beautiful beaches between Positano and Amalfi Coast. It is worth visiting to take some beautiful pictures.
Nice beach but only a small section that is for public use. At least 75% is covered by beds and brollies you pay to use.
