  • Stunning double descent (and certainly the Auftieg) of the upper Portal is Falcone to the Porta Forte terra in the port. On the one hand the wonderful views, no matter from which point you can look, on the other hand the incredible heat that makes difficult the way. Here, the question comes up during the descent again, why must all look so shabby? But if you like adventure and mystery, which is there just right. You need only a little imagination.

  • Imbattutomi by chance during a photographic reconnaissance of Portoferraio I came across the sentierodi cement beat that goes to it which in itself was raised in privileged location and views, in particular towards the beach views, and in general the rooftops of portoferraio. I am so convinced to spend 7 Euro (combined ticket includes admission to the Museum of the Tongue and at the Teatro dei Vigilanti). to enter. I've walked: you can hop from views and make the location of bastions downhill or vice versa you can enter from the Centre (Via Guerrazzi-near the galleria) and take the path uphill. In itself the Museum inside the Forte Falcone has few halls: one used as a modern art exhibition, other 3 or 4 with paintings and historical artifacts that show the development of the town at the time of the Medici. To me at the entrance was told that it was also possible to visit the tunnels tunnel located between the ramparts. Even here I was pleasantly well struck: a cooperative of Elba has set up 5 salt happy finds of war with mannequins in military costume. The real show is going down the ramparts towards the center of Portoferraio. A city within a city where in an enjoyable walk (even a bit steep) you switch between panoramic terraces, warehouse/storage rooms victuals, to guard towers overlooking the sea. I think it is inevitable destination for someone like me who is passionate about photography. The descent from the battlements is very scenic and will allow you to see some of the most beautiful beaches and the same Portoferraio from a different angle and very picturesque. Would advise all who does not want to walk (I spent almost an hour and a half to complete the path) and I'd avoid visiting during the hottest part of the day. Every now and then on the terraces and benches are available in some cases tables for pausing to rest. I highly recommend the entrance to those who never saw it, you won't be blown away

  • Definitely worth a visit when you walk the ramparts, unlike they inquired is well maintained. the only thing is that there isn't much to go inside, some rooms with paintings depicting the urban development of the city in history, very interesting, and at the moment a path with images of war and another small room used for works of modern art. deserve more for the view ...
