  • My friends and I stayed for 8 days in an apartment on the outskirts of Porto Cesareo, a few steps from the sea. The sea is clean but nice to walk into the center of the village you find everything is more out of boats burned garbage in General and abandoned houses ... too bad ... because he's a really nice place, and it's a pity that you leave all abandonment; upon reaching the Centre all very cute is clean, from log cabins to the décor, the port has particularly colourful and small boats and the bottom is wonderful you see fish and many species of hermit crabs (there was a gentleman who sold starfish) that mean I recommend take a vacation, but hopefully be organized to keep it cleaner, as there is not only the Center but also the suburbs! ps: for those who are interested:) the Thursday flea market:D

  • Porto Cesareo is one of the most popular coastal villages of the Ionian coast of Salento, but in my opinion one of the nicest. It is filled with bars, restaurants and pizza places to eat (almost everyone though found them just enough, I was unlucky in the choices) and even fishmongers to buy all the fish you want. The central part near the Watchtower is the place where most clubs and shops are concentrated, but is very small and can be visited in no time. The seafront is nice for walking and much frequented in summer, but does not have much to see. Lovely rabbit Island, hideous statue of Arcuri! For the chapter you can only imagine what may be parking during the summer of greater crowding. Other chapter are the beautiful beaches that have reviews. Definitely worth a visit, but with some improvements could deserve 4 stars in my opinion.
