  • In the highest part of the Hill, with the prospectus on the beautiful green square, we visited this magnificent Castle, gem and a symbol of Poppi. This wonder from prospect especially, where a tall tower halves opposite battlements, is kept in an excellent manner and takes us back in time. Enter inside, means getting lost in amazing wonders: an elegant courtyard with walls adorned with coats of arms, makes us admire the extraordinary and harmonious movement of the stairs to climb to the upper floors and magnificent wooden balconies; all this would require visiting! Instead, you can admire other wonders, like the library Rilliana, extraordinary treasure collecting valuable books and manuscripts, or the soaring, honeycombed Tower, from where you can admire a superb view overlooking the Arno Valley until the Casentino. Unfortunately the party room and Chapel were closed, but to hear collect more charms. Everything is a magnificent collection, a dazzling beauty, affecting and remains inside. Totally recommended, to revisit!

  • The profile of the Hill of Poppi with Castle on the top looks like a child's drawing. Really impressive from afar, it retains its charm. Very well maintained both the exterior and the Interior; enjoyable visit.

  • Castello di Poppi has a great history. Loved the prisons which you enter where you really feel the history. Could come right from an episode of GOT!
  • Great cafe right next to the castle and good views all around. A glass of wine at the castle is 1.5 euro
  • You should visit it. Very nice place with fantastic views...

  • Is the "Castle" of Casentino. Stands out on top of a hill with its typical Guelph merlons and Tower. Dating back to 1,200 and is perfectly preserved. It was the residence of the counts Guidi, today its interior houses the library Rilliana, rich of medieval manuscripts, and a chapel which houses frescoes attributed to Taddeo Gaddi. The village of Poppi lies within the walls, perfectly preserved, and is considered among the most beautiful in Italy
