  • For us is a must every time we come to People, we can't help but go visit this natural wonder, beautiful and charming in all seasons! The purity and freshness of water enhanced by this frame of vegetation that surrounds it is a must see. Our advice is to go absolutely!!!

  • I went to the source of the river Pescara near Peoples during the heat of early August (41°) to find some refreshment. I have to be honest I was expecting something different. Good parking in the shade, as well as refreshment, a small wooden artifact, I went in the afternoon so I ate lunch there but are equipped for this. The springs are reached from the parking lot in less than 5 minutes, the trail is flat so it is suitable to all, some have reached the place by car (but who is allowed?), you get into the clearing where the Pescara River, then to the springs and the peculiarity is that the water comes from the river bottom bubbling. You sit on benches and we contemplate the landscape, the colors of the River are indescribable, I would want to swim, the water is 11 degrees!!. The view is rather limited, however, so I decide to just go ahead along the path at the bottom (there are 2) believing you can admire more enchanting views: but it doesn't. The view of the river and the reed beds at the heart of it is obscured by many bushes, some poplar trees, have fallen I presume because of bad weather, those who blocked the passage were cut but left there, some wooden platforms built to allow contact with the river and see it up close are torn up and then impassable; I have walked the whole trail hoping to "re-enter" my disappointment against such abandonment but unfortunately it was not; explanatory signs also have fallen to the ground and they are prey of nature that perhaps rightly seeks to regain that place that we humans don't deserve to attend or organize. I went with so much enthusiasm, I had also phoned the Reserve having seen a river boat service, of course subject to reservation, it would surely have been more interesting but they replied aghast that you could not!. Who will be gone by boat?! Who knows. I would love to go back again to see a change, because I'm from Abruzzo and I want very much to my land but I often do not share the choices you make. I want to change my mind.
