  • Trebula Balliensis is a novelty in italian archaeology. Buried by natural phenomena, it holds the "secrets" of the history of the Samnites and some aspects of their culture, up to now deemed as lost. ...  more »

  • Even before the founding of Rome, in the 9th century BC arose the first settlement of Trebula that believed to be the work of Osci who had installed in the southern area around the 12th century BC in the early nineteenth century near a large necropolis was found dating from the early 7th century containing materials such as disks and shells in stamens, with gladi effigies of dragons due to populations from Abruzzo. Afterwards and were around the 6th century BC, the Samnites Trebula Samnite remains until the defeat of Pirro when many towns allied themselves with Rome. The excavations have unearthed a piece of theatre, part of an aqueduct and baths as well as many gravestones or insignias that are currently visible in Capua at the Museum.
