  • A beautiful castle but undervalued. You can get there by climbing a paved medieval traveling through the State but the tourist sign you see it only if you search, arrived at the donjon there is no ticket office nor someone who may welcome the visitor. The visits, only with a guide, depart at set times and unfortunately if you arrive after 11.00 there is nothing that can be done on the spot, not even a bite until the visit of 14.00. We, along with many other people who have come in place more or less at the same time, we were lucky because the Guide (very prepared and kind) has become available for a visit in extra time. It would have been a shame to give up the visit because the Castle gets it right, maybe better manage the reception and set up a small convenience store would bring more visitors to know this architectural gem.

  • You see from the Brenner motorway is well perched, accessed from Ponte Gardena. Once you reach with difficulty walking, you can admire a wonderful panorama. The Castle Trostburg is in good condition, well maintained, is the seat of the association South Tyrol's castles, there are 80 + models. This castle is not well known, is beautiful, rich in history and rich in art: tiled stoves, coffered ceilings, frescoes, some furniture, stunning views from the Windows. There are guides with knowledge of various languages, which will accompany you and you illustrate the various parts of the environment

  • We visit castles across Europe. Many, over many years. Trostburg is very special. It is our favourite castle of all countries that we have visited. The personal tour given by our guide was wonderful. ...  more »

  • 15 minutes of steep ascend from the village and you are near the castle. There is not much outside, so it is definitely worth going inside with a guided tour (check the site for the times). The castle is not very touristic which is great as it still has a touch of authenticity.
  • Beautiful castle, very nice guide. To get there there are 2 paths a simpler one paved the other more beautiful and adventurous. Q it's worth it.
