  • Couldn't drive past one of the most famous and charming castles of South Tyrol. On the way to Valdichiana Gardenu decided to make a little stop and admire the Castle, so much so that it is on the way. But it turned out that the castle can be visited only with an organized tour and in January it closed, but at least admired lock from the outside.

  • The Castle overlooks the village of Ponte Gardena. We parked the car near the post office and hopped to the cobbled path, short and steep, but also impressive because it crosses a part of the forest. Down we walked another path, sunnier and asphalt, therefore also suitable for pushchairs. The tours take place at fixed times. The castle is well preserved and you can see several rooms. We join a group of people speaking only German, so we could enjoy the visit only partially, because we did not understand everything that was explained. Our guide has proved sympathetic and charged us one ticket instead of two: vielen Dank!

  • The Castle seen from the Brenner motorway is little visited because it is passing through and then do not find time for a layover. Instead is a gem not to be missed, leaving the car in the country can access the hotel by walk trail about 20 minutes or the road leading to the Castle a little longer. Several are visiting hours to seasonally only by guided tour cost 7 euros. To discover also in a room there are the reproduction of South Tyrol's castles and then get caught up in the magic of the place.

  • 15 minutes of steep ascend from the village and you are near the castle. There is not much outside, so it is definitely worth going inside with a guided tour (check the site for the times). The castle is not very touristic which is great as it still has a touch of authenticity.
  • It's a beautiful place like Castle and to take a walk, there is a breathtaking view of the Valle Isarco
