  • I went to 8/2016. It is the Temple of Apollo in the Pompeii ruins. Couldn't get inside when I went under renovation at the entrance, joyfully in the photo.

  • This temple is just entering. Of the first things seen and you can already get an idea of what you'll see in Pompei. Half of the walls up there is just nothing, but the fact that can be closed perimeter gives it more value. Modern statues that are not at all bad, elsewhere are positioned more misguided way, in my opinion.

  • The temple of Apollo is very old and also it is Pompeii's most important religious building. Some statues have been recovered with the excavations. These are now in the National Archeological Museum of Naples, though copies of two of them, one representing Apollo, the other a bust of his sister Diana, have been placed where the originals were found. A must see in Pompeii. Do not miss._

As I was walking I could envision crowded street with women tending to their children, men taking care of business and hear the Roman chariots coming through the streets. It was truly a highlight during my tour of Italy. Our tour guide Roberto was an excellent story teller.

  • Temple of Apollo. Impressive.
