  • Fauno House of far from where it is. The quietness from the road to the entrance floor was decorated in luxurious. Room number or the altar was prepared for or in wealth, how do you want to know now.

  • First of all say that my knowledge of art, architecture and history are "walking home". But in my travels I saw in Jordan as some children did stone mosaics to embed the in box and these were sold tourist... left me amazed. BUT ENTERING THIS HOUSE AND SEE ALEXANDER THE GREAT DEFEATING DARIUS IN GAUGAMELA... It HAS been very exciting to see such beautiful work of art stone to stone. Don't forget to see this marvel of work work and good work.

  • Large patrician villa. The wildlife fires a fauna of dealers of "faunesques" images. Explanations in Italian always (except the plan provided to the entry)

  • Casa del Fauno (the House of the Faun), built during the 2nd century BC, was one of the largest and most impressive private residences in Pompeii. It was named for the bronze statue of the dancing faun. Most beautiful little statue, a must see in Pompeii. Highly recommended. The House of the Faun also contained the Alexander Mosaic, now in Naples museum, depicting the Battle of Issus in 333 BC between Alexander the Great and Darius III of Persia.
  • One of the largest houses in Pompeii. It contains the replica of the mosaic depicting Alexander the Great.
  • the hous is a well preserved roman house!
  • One of my favorite spots in Pompeii
  • Not really that different from other sites, but still rather nice
