  • The source is the largest surviving witness of the ancient village of Poggibonizio. Made entirely of travertine, the source has the typical features of public sources. The façade is a portico with six double pointed arches. The arches are supported by pillars of over 2 meters thick to facilitate the flow of water. In 2000 was placed an artwork of Mimmo Paladino (artist, painter, sculptor and engraver), consisting of 25 bronze sculptures. Interesting.

  • From the Centre we followed the signs for Fonte delle fate. Appropriate name but you should treat it a little.

  • It is not true that Italy has 70% of the world's artistic heritage, but it is also true that the "boot" is embellished, from North to South, from gems that make it unique. The Fonte delle Fate is one of these gems abandoned children neglect and abandonment: a crying shame!

  • Gorgeous scenery really impressive with a pond where many turtles, a tree-lined avenue that mitigates the heat of summer and a number of benches that make it more welcoming and relaxing stay in the place. There are also statues in one open space inside the fortress that sits beside them.

  • During the holidays in the Tuscan countryside were visiting this fountain. Assuming that I did not understand why it is called so and adding that the name does not identify it because everything is except "fabled", the place has a very peaceful place: from afar you notice on the left a rectangular tank with standing water is full of turtles ; approaching one understands that the source is under the arches. Looking inside the sculpture placed in the water are noted that apparently seem to chalk but turns out to be made of bronze; these sculptures are humans and crocodiles, the first in position practice this work would want to have the ancestral significance with men who are immersed in (according to the artist Mimmo Paladino) an amniotic fluid but, in this case, not I understand why the crocodiles! However the place is surrounded by greenery, very well maintained. To visit if you are in the area

  • Ancient fountain, might be a nice place but it is poorly maintained.

  • Public fountain located in Poggibonsi, built in the 13th century. Unfortunately is left to decay and is not valued. Within the source is the work the sleepers by Mimmo Paladino.

  • Really located in a picturesque spot, this source that enslaved the ancient walled city located just above, is definitely among the places to see absolutely. Beautiful are also the meadows which extend front and that, as communal gardens are well cared for, but what I don't understand is why the source is not receiving the same care. In fact there are written that disfigure and also the stone is not maintained and kept in good order by a restoration. In addition, within the source, there is a work that engages very little with the whole medieval structure, but the taste is not discussed.
