  • In 1944 the Brazil entered the war Theater of the second world war and to this end sent him to Italy a military contingent of about 25 000 men who took part in the campaign of Italy alongside allied forces. In particular the Brazilian military worked in Tuscany, Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and reaching the end of the war the city of Turin. After the war, the bodies of fallen 462 Brazilian soldiers and officers were buried near Pistoia, in one of the many military cemeteries that arose after World War II. In 1960 the Brazilian Government decided to bring home the remains of the fallen who were buried in Rio de Janeiro. In 1967 finally at the place where the cemetery was erected a votive monument.

  • Little known monument, but of the sacrifice made by soldiers detected importance because Brazilians come to fight alongside the Italians during World War II. Is located outside the city proper, but reached well through the bus line 25 and then a short walk. Recommended to all.
