  • Gothic style, a collection of items from getting lost ... by the vastness of space, the smallness of man. Wonderful Chapter House, the cloister, the outer part of the transept and apse, with bodies that intertwine in perfect balance. Harmony!

  • The Church of San Francesco is a church in Pistoia-13th century dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi. The construction of the complex began in 1289. The Church was built according to the Franciscan pattern, with one Hall trusses, transept and divided into chapels. Simple is hardly recognizable Gothic language. Inside, many beautiful mosaics. Side a-colour decoration remained unfinished until 1707. On the way out, we see a staircase with a garden and a building attracts us. We meet 2 guys that invite us to come and visit the place where were trained to play ...

  • The exterior is not particularly attractive and the large initial internal gives a feeling of emptiness. Interesting frescoes of the Giotto School of the apse and the transept chapels (the authors of which experts are in sharp disagreement). The conservation status is not the best and the iconography resumes (sometimes copy) the representations of Giotto in Assisi without the freshness of news. Having to make choices between the churches of Pistoia would surely prioritize s. Andrea and s. Bartolomeo in Pantano with their beautiful portals and pulpits

  • Church annexed convent of the same name, is a nice treat for tourists. The nave is unique and very wide both in height and width and, upon entering, the eye is immediately drawn to the frescoes covering the walls behind the high altar and two side chapels to it. Don't miss out on this visit.

  • Stately and imposing church with beautiful stained glass Windows inside

  • Classic example of Franciscan architecture whose construction began in 1289. To report the frescoes with stories of Saints Anthony and Ludovico di Giovanni di Bartolomeo Cristiani and histories of san Donnino di Bonaccorso di Cino.

  • Very old church but kinda snubbed by tourists, probably because the place slightly off-center from Piazza Duomo.

  • One of the most impressive churches of Pistoia, easy to find.
