  • This has been our favorite for fifteen years. It's wild, sometimes there's some garbage washed up, but the shore is always changing and you can find a place to put up your umbrella, tent, lean-to or t...  more »
  • We often go to the mouth of the Serchio with our two dogs although I don't know if it's admitted. I did not find signs prohibiting talking on the internet there are reliable reports. The place would be very nice but is totally abandoned to itself. In the dunes there are natural (not bad) and anthropogenic debris of all kinds. Too bad because it would be a really nice place. To get there you have to park at an additional charge, expensive and not guarded with a sign that warns you that car thefts are possible; then take the Moon dirt pedestrian (attention to scooters) and arrive on the beach. Sin that is never cleaned by the administration. The place deserves more. Anyway I will continue to stay with our two dogs.

  • I found only these days the beach and the sea of Marina di Vecchiano. For years I don't go over the beaches of Versilia, from Torre del Lago in Marina di Massa. For the horrendous water quality, reduced in polluted mud, smelly and unhealthy and unfortunately for sand reduced to "powder" and certainly not to Stardust!!. Not to mention the price of the bathing establishments which are out of control. In Viareggio for a parasol (umbrella), two armchairs and a Director's Chair in a terrible situation from Apocalypse Now to people stuck like sardines, ask from 25 to €30 and then to 50-100 € in Marina di Pietrasanta where you pay more for being there that for the enjoyment of being there! And I talk about daily rates! The last time I had the courage to take a bath in Marina di Pietrasanta I had for several days skin problems. In Viareggio a plunge into the gray, in my opinion, is to brave, unconscious, or simply, by people who are not well informed of what they are in danger. Remember that earlier this summer was in effect a ban on bathing, which then, as if by magic was taken away in a few days, maybe in a few hours. The mystery of faith! And, despite all this, Viareggio & Company think they offer you the Moon! This year, not to go too far, I tried the beach of Marina di Vecchiano. Has the reputation of being a "misunderstanding" in winter because of frequent visits, shall we say, questionable. But this is another story that has nothing to do with the reason for my review. I found a place that is still almost intact, where the dunes and low vegetation, typically Mediterranean, giving an atmosphere of times gone by. The sand is rather coarse and not "dust", so very nice to the touch. But the real treat is the water which, despite the uncomfortable proximity to Viareggio manages to keep, perhaps because of currents, a truly unexpected clarity. Sunday, November 12 with an iota of naughty I made a very long bath and despite the water temperature, almost cold, I enjoyed a gift found half an hour from my house. There are also returned Wednesday, 1 November, the water temperature has not allowed any kind of approach, despite my goodwill, but the beauty of the place that opened on the horizon of the sea the perfect view of the Gorgona Island gave a pleasant day at the beach. Perhaps the last for this year. Just wish the beach clean up leaves much to be desired and it is really inconceivable that the local authorities do not intervene regularly to keep him clean as it deserves, this, perhaps the last little piece of untouched nature. Once more human stupidity never misses an opportunity to show incompetence and negligence that one day will cost us all increasingly expensive. In my opinion you should act, speak, get angry about these seemingly insignificant issues but really so important not to be taken lightly! Too bad!! This environment deserves to regain dignity, if only for the great thing which nevertheless still manages to give us smaller inconsiderate beings.

  • I love this beach side! It's clean, very well equipped and beautiful!!!
  • Very calm beach far away from the crowds of the nearby Pisa/Livorno. It gets deep pretty quick for a child, that's the only downside.
  • Nice and quiet beach. Shallow water, white sand. Parking fee 10e for the whole day
  • Very nice and clean beach!
  • Very nice relaxing sea and nearby kiosks. Milkshakes and fresh fruit on the beach.
