  • I state that I have a real passion for barter, but a visit to the necropolis I missed because summer can't do without the beach! The necropolis are two: the first includes the graves that can be glimpsed from the street, the second (Necropolis of the caves) is a picturesque path with gentle drop inside the forest of about 40 minutes. This is not real caves, but of rock walls exploited by the Etruscans for extraction of a stone used in buildings that at one point were used for burials. Although the necropolis is not extensive as other Etruscan necropolises, the path by the inclusion of explanatory signs allows you to get an idea about the activities that contributed to the splendor of this location. I couldn't take the path that leads to the Acropolis or enjoy a guided tour as such activities are planned from April. Interesting the possibility to use the 50% discount at other museums/parks of Val di Cornia paired with your ticket.

  • Populonia is the most known etruscan town close to the sea. It was a port. Here you can visit the tombs, near the beach and into the wood, and the acropolis, on the top of the hill. It is a good option to visit the museum during a break from day spent at the beach of Baratti.
  • Such a great place to see when visiting Tuscany. Surrounded by the nature of the promontory of Populonia and the beach of the Gulf of Baratti, the archaeological park well preserves the ruins or the Etruscans, the ancient inhabitants of Tuscany.
  • A very special place! Take enough time to visit it.
  • The Park offers several trails The San Cerbone necropolis. A laboratory of archaeology for kids greatly appreciated by our daughter. The necropolis of tufa quarries, reached after a short walk in the Woods. the visit to the Acropolis within a beautiful walks in the woods or in the car. The visit is supported by a guide who explains with great professionalism full details of this site. We were very pleased with the experience.
