By accident one Saturday morning we came across a sign advertising that indicated that the Saturday afternoon the Museum was open from 15 to 17. Given the bad weather we decided to try to see what gave us a guided tour. Arrived on scene, the Guide, a very personable and made to all arguments occurred and began his story in front of a model of the Castle now destroyed. After a brief history of the wars we have been among the population and the army of Lucca, we moved inside the Church. The structure from the outside looks uninteresting, but it is inside that is the real surprise. The Church is beautiful and rich in frescoes; also from 2011, the real attraction are the mummies that were found inside the crypt under the main altar. A very interesting visit and a sensational discovery from a scientific point of view, given ongoing studies, about how these bodies mummified naturally and therefore complete of internal organs, they're dead. If you find yourselves in those parts, I recommend visiting the Museum.show original

Francesco MuciWell worth a visit. The explanations of the guides (voluntary) are clear and comprehensive. Two exhibitions (free) with a lot of material and a lot of "history".show original
