  • Simple, full of charm (because of its simplicity), the pieve di Corsignano is, as a whole, with its distinctive Bell Tower cut off by the unusual cylindrical shape, an example of medieval architecture remarkably preserved through the centuries. Located at the foot of the walls of Pienza and can be reached either by car (following the signs found along the Strada Provinciale del Monte Amiata), either on foot, walking down a short path that starts from Piazza Dante Alighieri. In this place of worship collected and immersed in nature, we find the essence of living. Stones that, enlightened by the light of candles, silently telling the story of peasant people who certainly here found themselves to be community.

  • We visited the Church, which seems to stop at a thousand years ago, maybe a little place abandoned but of great charm.

  • The Romanesque church dates back from the time as Pienza was still Corsignano. Behind the Church the road that excites viewers and today the photographer in the final scene of the Gladiator starts down the Valley.

  • Nice place, especially in the morning when the sun is down and lamplight is shining on church.
