  • After the dome is the second most important building overlooking Piazza Pio II. The Palace was commissioned by Pope Pius II as a dwelling for his family and for himself, the front has Renaissance elements making it in some ways similar to some palaces in Florence. The first floor houses the Museum where are the beautifully decorated apartments including the pound of Pius II. The southern part of the building has a loggia overlooking the garden terrace and allows spectacular views of Monte Amiata, Val Norcia and to finish on the walls surrounding Pienza.

  • We did not expect this care of the Palace, the fullness of the things I had to tell. Was a very nice and pleasant. You enter in groups and you have audio guides in all languages to better enjoy the Palace. GORGEOUS!!! WORTH VISITING.

  • We visited the Palace and took advantage of the brunch (3 € more than the normal ticket). The Palace was interesting but the tastings with visiting were great and accompanied by a brunello.

  • Beautiful city and nice palazzo
  • A treasure chest full of beauties, artistic and cultural riches. A journey from 1400 to the present day. An exceptional legacy of Pope Pius II. To visit without delay

  • The palazzo overlooking Piazza Pio II, the façade is made of finely carved stone, has a square plan, has three floors. At some points in the facade are visible of coats of arms in stone, gold and silver. A large portal overlooking the square is the main entrance of the building. Inside the building there is a court with a porch supported by stone pillars. The Palace also includes a beautiful garden terrace that offers a unique and unrivalled on the Val d'Orcia.
