  • Located next to the cathedral, this is one of the buildings erected within the project of ideal city entrusted by Pope Pius II to Bernardo Rossellino. It was built from the year 1459, resulting in a three-storey building with a square floor. It consists of a rectangular courtyard with a loggia supported by stone columns and a garden from which you can see magnificent views of the Orcia Valley. You can visit the main floor, accessing several rooms, the dining room, the lounge and the library, furnished with paintings, objects and period furniture. It opens all year, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10.00 to 16.30 hours from mid-October to mid-March, and from 10.00 to 18.30 hours from mid-March to mid-October. Closes on Mondays. The price of the entrance is €7. The visit is guided with Italian guide, lasts about 30 minutes and includes audioguide in Spanish, being strictly forbidden to take pictures, except in the courtyard and in the garden. It is a very interesting visit, and if we have time we should not do without it.
