  • To take a journey into the past, if you stay within the walls of this old monastery. Wonderfully secluded and yet close other beautiful Tuscan locations up to Siena.

  • This monastery I visited a few years ago when he was virtually in a State of neglect, I was curious to see him as a result of the footage for the movie "the English patient" and it was beautiful. Came back some time later and I could see that it was transformed into a B & B and I don't know if it's still just open

  • We had a great stay at this quiet and charming monastery. Food was delicious, staff super friendly and helpful, we had a room with bathroom in the separate old farmers house. If you go there, expect being in a slightly remote and definitely quiet spot with clean but basic accommodations since it is a monastery! No tv and internet can be slow. But since it was our expectations, it was grand.
  • Beautiful monastery with simple rooms but amazing views. The road to Pienza is very scenic. This is where The English Patient was shot!
  • Stumbled on to this via an online search. Spent 2 evenings (room #33) in wing detached from main building. Very quiet with good cross venelation. Room was 80 Euro/night including breakfast. Cash only, no credit cards. Setting is far from any main road so there is total quiet. Dinner served nightly (except Sunday) @ 20 Euro - large quantity of simple but delicious regional food - apparently unlimited wine. Breakfast daily. Staff speaks some english - but, combined with our limited Italian, there was no communication problem. Local back roads excellent for hiking, biking, and 'sunday driving'.
  • Inevitable stage in the Siena countryside. Beautiful views, tranquility and silence.

  • It is a small oasis of tranquility where guests can spend a day or even more. Nestled in the Tuscan hills can be reached easily by car
