  • I was twice in transit and wanted to look at just the area with an overnight stay me. I had printed out a list of accommodation from Cossogno and Miazzina, based on TripAdvisor. All units fully or closed (in Miazzina) were two times and had no choice given the late arrival and the little helpful comic population me, as both nights out there to spend, of course without dinner, because all restaurants were already closed (in the city traffic to Verbania I wanted to not go prefer). The first time in the Capilla Fina and the second time at a campsite. While there had been al still Agriturismo motto. No one has me pointed out, the existing hotel in Miazzina not. In addition, the access road to the Park is extremely dangerous and not suitable for the journey with the vintage. The words of parking and turning area appear in these places to be a foreign Word. A parking lot has probably never seen someone. Given twice but considerable anger (so far not even in a developing country happened before) I can only advise: Please don't go without a reservation or arrive late. Or best quite refrain, is not as long as sufficient accommodation capacity outside the city of Verbania.

  • We came here by accident. At some point the road was so lonely, the landscape so wild that we wondered where we were finished (family since the great Valley is "Mordor"). Luckily we crossed a couple of hikers that they gave us directions and found to be in Val Grande. A beautiful walk through the woods with spectacular panorama and almost no tourists. Incredibly, however, there was a small farm run by a family, dear, who has decided to quit the city and work to start a new life in Val Grande. Of course we ate very well. Quite a find!

  • My husband and I loved this park, its rugged beauty, its landscapes, its trails and relatively little fame that makes a quiet spot (in comparison to the nearby Macugnaga, for example). Our now traditional walk of the early season is the Cicogna-Pogallo path. Stork is reached by a long, narrow paved road up the Valley, very impressive but a little dangerous, given the few guards. The path from Stork brings to Pogallo is a continuous up and down very shady suitable even for less energetic, always placing very careful where you put your feet, because in some places it is exposed and fall would slip in the underlying rio Pogallo, River not quiet and full of rocks. Pause then Pogallo, surrounded by green mountains, on being able to enjoy the fresh spring water and pratone and silence of the place is priceless.
