  • The Citadel is the FARNESE PALACE, beautiful and majestic three-story building with elegant lodges on the ground floor and on the first floor overlooking the courtyard. Houses the Museums on the carriages, the risorgimento and an extensive picture gallery

  • The Palace is restored very well (beautiful stucco), as well as very interesting history of the Farnese collections transferred to Naples in 1734 and indented in 1928. Superb collection of carriages. Good DIY volunteers without whom it would not open. The exhibition of the paintings and of the (few) furniture still a traditional setting.

  • Palazzo Farnese is located at the entrance to Piacenza motorway of the Sun follow the via emilia. It is one of the most important monuments of the city. It is located in piazza Cittadella, inside there are Museums and the State archives. Strongly backed by Galeazzo II Visconti, Duke of Milan and the city gentleman. The position allowed to control the village and if necessary it got easy access to Lombardy. In 1545, Pope Paul III Farnese family member separated the city from the Duchy of Milan and they became autonomous under the name Duchy of Parma and Piacenza. Certainly the glance and the varied perspectives make this Palace the true symbol of the city, also do not expect to find it in the suburbs, advice to whoever is nearby to opt for a visit in the early morning, or late in the afternoon, the Sun does not forgive, armed with water! about the parking is not at all expensive.

  • Very interesting palace with valuable works of art and we'll made guides to help you interpret what you see. Plus the staff is very welcoming and kind!
  • There's many things to see, starting from the carriages, the recent Etruscan discovery, the Etruscan liver, paintings and not least the building is impressive as well.
  • I went to the exhibition of Guercino: beautiful works, great, amazing. Only flaw is that quite a few (if I remember correctly 28) the exhibits. Though some were from WOW. I will be back for the rest calmly, pity the closing for lunch, which is the time period that is most comfortable for you.

  • I visited the Museum during an exhibition of paintings of "Guercino". The building is very large and austere. The view well placed, either as lights both as temperature. The service staff very friendly.

  • The Musei Civici di Palazzo Farnese, represent the place of representation and symbol of the Farnese family. I was lucky enough to enjoy the view on Guercino (Giovanni Francesco Barbieri). Recommends the Guide to better understand the history and peculiarities of the works.
