  • It was designed by the architect Alessio Tramello, prominent figures in the sacred architecture of the Renaissance, which in Piacenza he built another two churches: the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Basilica of Santa Maria in Campagna. The Church of St. Sixtus is characterized by having a large arcaded courtyard and a majestic Interior rich in works of art. The main work is the Sistine Madonna by Raphael. There are two copies (to the left of the porch and at the center of the altar), because the original, unfortunately, is located at the Gemäldegalerie, Dresden.
