  • Externally and internally in the media, say no more than three bullets (belli cmq the capitals, the two stone lions on either side of the iron gate that leads into the ground, the floor decorated with waves and fish, and the wooden crucifix from the 12th century). But the real treasure is hidden in the crypt: mosaic floor depicting the signs of the Zodiac and the months of the year, on the seabed designed with waves of color and white. Simply magnificent! If, like me, you found the Church empty, and the crypt gate closed with lights off, don't despair. The iron gate, on the right it is openable, and descended the few steps will turn on automatically the lights that illuminate the crypt itself. Visiting Piacenza is one of the churches to visit absolutely. Somewhat hidden the façade from the trees of the beautiful piazza.

  • In our turn to Piacenza had planned a visit to this church dedicated to s. Savino. We entered Sunday at about 11.40 and was taking the Holy Mass we attended the celebration and then we toured in this beautiful and spacious Church which happens to be one of the oldest in the city. We went down to the vault then back we met the priest Don Giampietro, I asked some news and he presented us with a very erudite and exhaustive conversation with news that are not on the brochure. It also took us around the altar d we could admire a relic of St. Savino kept in an urn worked tremendously. She turned on the light of the URN where can be seen the skull of the Saint. We spent a half hour extra special and we could appreciate even more the beauty of this Roman-Lombard Church from ancient history. From outside actually says little because hidden by large trees of the Park. In the end albeit delayed on our roadmap we agreed it was worth it and we must thanks to Don Giampietro.
