  • Sunday 9 October with friends I was at Piacenza and we didn't miss a visit to this church who was decorated for a feast of Peruvian people come into town from different localities. Especially the façade and the Bell Tower all in Lombard-Gothic style. The Interior of the beautiful basilica is partly blocked by scaffolding for renovation work. From what we can see is full of frescoes and decorations that make a beautiful church, among the oldest in the area. We have witnessed the Holy Mass celebrated in Spanish and we could see the great faith participation by the people the American South. From the sign outside you notice that is home to the museo capitolare, we visited.

  • It is one of the most original churches that I know: the octagonal belfry, entrance on the side entry compartment opening with a lil so extraordinary. I find extremely impressive.

  • The Interior was under renovation... the building is great... but very bare... very austere. There is a little architecture of the fourteenth. but the majority of early Gothic style. I preferred the small cloister with some remains of frescoes and a bit of greenery...

  • The basilica of Sant'Antonino, patron of Piacenza, is an example of Romanesque and is characterized by a large octagonal tower. Has the dignity of a minor basilica. [1]
