  • Santo Stefano di Sessanio is a small medieval village in the province of L'aquila, not far from the beautiful villages of Castel del Monte and Rocca Calascio. Santo Stefano di Sessanio is part of the National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga, and from there it's easy to reach Campo Imperatore and the plain of Navelli. Perched atop a hill, the village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio enjoys a position which offers visitors beautiful views and wonderful as those offered by the peaks of Majella Sirente and Campo Imperatore Plateau to the South and the North. The village, built in the middle ages, has been beautifully restored and offers the visitor all its magical beauty.

  • Whenever we can we try to return to this village. Somewhere in every corner, clean friendly and beautiful throughout the year. Beautiful also the surroundings above all the way up to the station of Palena.

  • I didn't even know this town's name. I went to visit a friend and I discovered a village with an ancient history, which preserves its origins and prides. Even the architecture is particular, in August the houses adorned with flowers recall the Austria. In August the temperature is beautifully fresh. Deserves before arriving to study the history and find the remains along the streets. A visit is worth the Basilica of Santa Maria del Colle and admire the gate inside, to the left of the altar altarpiece dedicated to animals of the Maiella and the miraculous statue of the Madonna. We understand the importance of experience and the importance of pastoralism in these places and the former prosperity of the village. It is close in Singapore but much prettier. Well worth the visit.
