(4.5/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
Take in the whitewashed houses and Cobblestone streets of Peschici centro storico. Walk through the ancient entrance to the city center, and venture through the small lanes lined by local medieval buildings. Stop and try the local specialty, the paposcia, or enter one of the many souvenir shops. The medieval castle was built to protect the Gargano coast from pirates. Perched on the cliff above the coast, the castle will give you a view of the entire village. • Peschici is really very beautiful, you notice that tourism has suffered a sharp slowdown, but the Center is really mysterious and strico at each visit again with its alleys and its ladders. Certainly to watch again and again ... advice for the greedy and not the bakery opened the evening with its wonderful pastries filled with cream and taralli and that sweet typical Christmas (can't remember the name ... must ...) that even in July is great

  • Peschici is a picturesque seaside village perched on the rock, located in the northernmost point of the Gargano and the whole Apulia. The origins of Peschici date from around the year 1000, when troops of Slavic mercenaries were given as gifts by Emperor Otto I the field of San Vito Gargano, where today there are Peschici and Vico del Gargano. Even before there was the town some Benedictine monks had settled on the plain at the foot of the village and had founded the Abbey of Kalena, subject of contention from antiquity to our days.
