#2 of 26 in Parks in Province of Perugia
Discover small, traditional fishing villages, hidden olive groves, and a smattering of castles at Lake Trasimeno, the largest body of water in peninsular Italy. Admire the area's churches, and learn about their connection with the region's Etruscan and medieval past. Take a dip in the lake's shallow waters at one of its many beaches, hop a boat to one of its small islands, or try a round of golf at a nearby course. • I was on holiday in Umbria and obviously I decided to visit among other things the Trasimeno Lake, well I tell you, from a distance it's a pretty sight, this big lake and majestic, but up close, maybe because I'm from the South and I know places of sea wonderful, fantastic beaches ... but to see people camped out on the dusty shore is full of dirty specks , and bathing in this water murky and opaque, it made me a little sense. In addition get a coffee and get a little water (as is customary before coffee) and the account you will hear calls for 50 cents more for the glass of water it was very strange. By us the water in each bar are already close to coffee. However, if you have to travel back to the beauty make many km to reach it, I would put in the things worth seeing.

  • Has a backdrop that oozy and full of mussels: I don't recommend bathrooms accordingly. The Islands in his small archipelago the recommend for their natural beauty and to spend some time in nature and in one place. Ferries run often and do not create disturbances.

  • Lake Trasimeno is the largest lake in Central Italy with a surface of more than 120 square kilometers. Contains three islands (Maggiore, Minore and Polvese). Is a Lake full of fish where they find their habitat: tench, Pike, carp and eel. Some countries bordering on its shores, in particular Lake Trasimeno and Passignano sul Trasimeno, are certainly worth a visit. An excursion to Major can be concluded in the best way a day on the Lake.
