  • I took my two small children to visit the Museum at their request because fans of precious stones and to spend a morning at two steps from the home of grandparents, their great-grandfather worked in that mine. The Museum is divided into 3 segments: the exposure of the stones, the history and equipment of the mine, the visit to the galleries (the latter expertly rebuilt since the real ones are not accessible and reusable for lack of oxygen). Guided tours with trained personnel and not cloying, the Museum is not very large but very well maintained, you visit in just over an hour ... the entrance fee affordable and infants do not pay.

  • Small but beautiful place, with beautiful Italian minerals and particularly beautiful sulfur crystals. The experience of the visit to the mine, (rebuilt artificially), sulfur, that takes you back in time to the miners in the area, for the extraction of the sulphur. To be passionate in mineralogy loved.

  • I participated in the sagra della polenta at Perticara. The Sulphur Museum is located not far from the Centre of this beautiful village of Valmarecchia. The sulphur mine here since 1917 and active until 1964, today is closed for security reasons. This museum was opened in 1970 to remember life in the mine and to follow the path of sulphur. The first part of the tour takes place in the "Hall of rocks and minerals". Represents the composition of the Earth's crust, the major geodynamic events and different environments that make up the rocks. The "Sala del Territorio". Here you can see the virtual reconstruction of the evolution of mining and human development, from early prehistoric settlement until the industrial era. In another room of the Museum I saw a collection of tools that are served to the miners to extract the sulfur. Lamps: by lumens by Roman at oil lamps, acetylene, the safety lamp to the battery. The visit continued with a guide that took me inside a mine rebuilt so scenic where you can experience first hand the path of sulphur sulphur sulphur stone to bread. From the depths of the underground mineral and men ran up through wells and descended to the external yards, where melting plants separated sulphur from the stone. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism of our employees to the Museum which allowed me to discover a piece of territory, rich in precious and singularity.

  • Museum curate, very interesting, very well prepared and enthusiastic guidance and, above all, voluntary. To visit, to understand, to us who work in comfortable offices, what sacrifices and sufferings, had to endure men and mules. Worth visiting.
