  • The University of Pavia is one of the oldest in Italy and hosted people people of history including Alessandro Volta. You can walk through the courtyards which surround the numerous classrooms (many of these painted) and the statues of famous people. The best time is the late spring when the plants and flowers give the best of himself and it is pleasant to sit on benches in the shade of Wisteria in bloom. Within the walls there is also the bar frequented by students. The main entrance straight ahead, you will come out in Piazza Leonardo Da Vinci with the medieval towers. Formerly the square housed the old ospedale San Matteo.

  • In addition to the courtyards and the library, we find fascinating even the Museum for the history of the University, worth a visit with a guide, we phoned to make sure that there was one available. Our guide was friendly and prepared, helping us to discover the meaning of the exhibits. There's also exposed the Nobel prize won for medicine by Camillo Golgi!

  • It is a building complex in the city centre with beautiful paved courtyards decorated from imposing statues of eminent scientists. University with great history. Upstairs next to the entrance of the library there is inscription for Dionysios Solomos who attended a space in the city's University. Worth a visit.
