  • This is another fine example of an old church built in the Romanesque style. Here lie the mortal remains of St Augustine and other notables. Note the fine carvings above and around the entry portal.  more »

  • Beautiful!
  • Resting home of st augustine
  • Beautiful Romanesque basilica (before even the Lombards) that houses the remains of St. Augustine. In keeping with the architectural style impresses with its solemn simplicity that enhances the golden ornaments on the ceiling from which it derives its name. To visit, preferably on the occasion of the feast of Santa Rita, where you can buy a rose in the countless banks set up in the square and then let her bless inside a small side chapel. Legend of the area wants roses picked and blessed on this day never go to seed, not limiting itself to dry while keeping their shape and beauty.

  • Art and accessibility. Different from other churches in Pavia and full of spirituality

  • Splendid Romanesque church with a lot of history in it. The crypt is not accessible for people in wheelchairs.
