  • You can only see it on the outside and I didn't want to highlight particular elements. The Interior nothing I can say because I found it closed and being seat of the RIS of Parma, I think it is difficult to visit it. Located within the Parco Ducale, the latter very large, suitable mostly for walking but insignificant for the occasional tourist. My advice: If you have time take advantage as well of a pleasant walk in the Park (especially if it's a beautiful day) and on that occasion you will even see (externally) its Palace; If time is running because the vs/visit in Parma is very short, skip without regret visiting the Park and the Palace.

  • Right in the city centre and in the middle of a park is the Ducal Palace around which deserves a walk during the visit of the city.

  • The Palace is closed to visitors and is only open on special occasions. It is home of the Carabinieri who has placed one of its specialist service. Commissioned by Ottavio Farnese in the second half of 1500, was modified in 1700 by adding pavilions and changing the decorations. Inside there are still several frescoes, some originals of ' 500, and Agosstino room painted by Carracci. Also very beautiful stuccoes crafted by fine artists. At the entrance, the grand staircase of the 1700 bird room door, detail and decorated with more than two hundred figures of birds. The Eland contains the oldest frescoes of the Palace: a work of art from the second half of 1500 based on the book of the Orlando Furioso. Beautiful boardroom Kiss figures inspired by the Orlando Innamorato of Boyar. Pleasant the room of Erminia and, with the ceiling frescoed by Agostino Carracci in the first ' 600, the Hall of love where you can admire scenes depicting the allegories of love. Try to find a chance to inspect it, well worth the time.

  • Impressive. A sign of the extravagance of the rulers
  • Beautiful building that serves as a perfect frame for the Ducal gardens, ideal for a quiet walk just a few steps from the Centre. Too bad it's always closed and that you can visit only on rare occasions! @gargio76

  • Splendid Palace, jewel of the Ducal Park at the heart of the historical centre of Parma. Legacy of the Farnese family, houses the headquarters of RIS of Parma and, sometimes, conventions and gala dinners.

  • Very nice outside, in the green heart of the city. Inside, who knows, not open to the public, unfortunately.

  • Very nice and well placed inside the park but could be enhanced by more
