  • I was by chance and I'm glad. Very pleasant visit and well illustrated by a museum guide. It is always fascinating to get into these places and live the stories of the protagonists. I found a Toscanini man I didn't know and I appreciate even more the musician. Recommended

  • Certainly not worth artistically complex della Pilotta or area Duomo-Battistero, but the birthplace of Arturo Toscanini is a reserved space, immersed in the tranquility of the neighborhood across the River, where they immerse themselves in the life of a great Director a conductor on the airs of extraordinary pieces of classical music among Verdi, Wagner and many others, which make nearly touching, the visit to this little place. A visit that the Council also to know the Toscanini "political" and patriot, and enhance the best roots of our country, which in modern times are drowning in too a defeatism and a racism that they never brought anything good in history

  • This is alongside Furtwängler, was a world-class conductor Arturo Toscanini birthplace. We could see the brochures in the newspaper of baton, sheet music, and at the time, Milan Scala Theatre performances.

  • Arturo Toscanini was born in Parma on 25 March 1867, from a family of Patriots (his father, a tailor by profession, was a partisan who had faced war and prison) and of music lovers. Demonstrated from an early age a great musical arrangement, Arturo became a pupil into the Royal School of Music, where he studied harmony, composition and cello and graduated with honors. In 1886, during a tour in Brazil, it is called suddenly to replace the conductor Leopold Miguéz. Directs from memory Aida: has only nineteen years old, and it's the start of a career that will have no equal. After experience in small theaters, from 1895 is called at Teatro Regio in Turin, where he directed the premiere of Puccini's La Bohème. The accomplishments of Turin (in 1897, meanwhile, had married Carla de Martini) the stair open their doors: "for over half a century since that 26 December 1898, when the young principal conductor raised his baton to conduct Die Meistersinger the inseparable binomial Toscanini – the scale was a fact in the musical world, despite the frequent and sometimes very long periods of separation between the teacher and the ultimate Temple of Italian Opera. " In the early ' 900 is called to New York, where he directs the Metropolitan alongside, at the beginning, Gustav Mahler: among the many triumphs in the great American Theatre, the world premiere of la Fanciulla del West by Puccini. During the first world war, Toscanini is hostile to German politics, organizes charity concerts and, during the attack of Monte Santo, directs the army band remained at the front until the rout of Caporetto. Anti-fascist convinced, in Bologna, Italy in 1931 he suffered some troublemakers for refusing to direct the marcia reale and the fascist anthem. In 1936 opens in Israel the fledgling Palestine Orchestra. In 1937 in New York RCA creates for the master an orchestra intended to radio broadcasts with which her performances across the world. After the war, in 1946, Toscanini falls into Italy to conduct the inaugural concert of La Scala rebuilt after the bombing. Follow many commitments and projects, but poor health forces him to long periods of rest. On 16 January 1957, following a cerebral thrombosis, Toscanini died at his mansion in Riverdale, New York. Highly recommended to visit the native house filled with memorabilia and a splendid reconstruction of environments. Staff knowledgeable and efficient. Free.
