  • The building was commissioned in 1196 and the octagonal building is covered in pink marble. There are three doors, each of which has interesting carvings above them. Inside, the walls and ceilings are...  more »
  • Great work, maestó and that at night is also very impressive, rises into the sky and around if the space of the square.

  • I think the baptistery of Parma is more recent than the one of Ascoli, while I haven't visited that of Florence; Beautiful both the exterior and the Interior, and of course "important symbol of Christianity"

  • Really lovely space with interesting wall paintings and central font - only went in to escape the rain and was glad that I did!
  • Is an interesting octagon building still being used for baptisms. Although interesting the cathedral next door is spectacular.
  • I am always impressed by this kind of tube-like buildings. The frescoes are well maintained and it's worth it a visit even if it costs 8 euro including the ticket for the Museo Diocesiano
  • Nice baptistery filled with historical paintings. Make sure you spend some time to look around because your ticket is only good for one entrance.
  • A must for anyone going to Parma. The baptistry may not carry the same acclaim as some of it's counterparts in cities like Milan Siena, Florence, Padua etc, which works in its favour because to those who stumble upon it it is an absolute revelation.
