  • After the "refresher" del Duomo why not revise the Baptistry? It was designed by Benedetto Antelami and as stated in the inscription on the lintel of the north portal, its construction began in the year 1196 and was completed in twenty years. The octagonal structure, in pink Verona marble, develops in height with four orders of architraved openings lodges. The three portals are sculpted both externally and internally by the master and his workshop contributors with biblical depictions, a real show! Inside the painting decorations of the vault, attributable to masters of Byzantine culture of the 13th century, are divided into concentric bands depicting the Apostles and four evangelists. The frescoes in the lower zone are workers of Emilia and the 14th and 15th centuries, tell of the lives of Saints. And then there's antelamiche sculptures and then ... and then ... and then. Not to be missed!

  • Nice baptistery filled with historical paintings. Make sure you spend some time to look around because your ticket is only good for one entrance.
  • It isn't as impressive as other duomos we have seen but still worth to take a look if you are in the city.
  • The pink baptistery is quite unique! The entrance fee is a bit steep though
  • A Masterpiece! It has to be visited
  • Bombass Bapistery
