  • On Sunday, before returning to Turin, my friends and I visited the sanctuary of Santa Rosalia. We reached the place with the coach from the Centre of Palermo in half an hour took us on Mount Pellegrino where is the sanctuary. It's a magical place, unique in the genre with this Chapel nestled in a cave quite impressive. Then along about one kilometer beyond the sanctuary you can reach the belvedere from where you see all over Palermo. A place surrounded by mountains and sea beautiful. Highly recommended.

  • It's hard not to get distracted by the uniqueness of the place, from the noise of the drops that slide on the walls of the cave, or from various ex-voto (limited, other precious) surrounding the statue of Santa Rosalia, many worshipers, as well as by tourists who stop after you address the switchbacks almost to the top of the mountain.

  • the sanctuary doesnt offer much but if you do come here to the top, make sure you come prepared for a hike. The natural reserve has a great mountain bike trail which is also very nice for a hike by foot.
  • Doesnt look special on the outside, but the chapel in the rocks is so special and beautiful!
  • The sanctuary mainly resounds with the local religious community. Others could do well without visiting. The sanctuary is very plain, the view isn't spectacular, the religious paraphernalia can be obtained elsewhere and the same holds for the Godfather souvenirs.
  • Nice
  • The place is really touching starting from the outside to the sanctuary itself. It's worth it to get up to on!
