  • Beautiful old church with pretty interior. They were holding service when we went and it was very nice
  • Must visit. Very nice insite! Top mosaics.
  • Beautiful. Colorful. Small but overwhelming
  • La Martorana c. 1143-51 perfect example of hybrid style of Byzantine (mosaics) and Arabic styles. Pointed arches common feature of Sicilian architecture under Normans but origins in Islamic architecture. Dedicatory inscription on exterior is in Greek while concept and architectural form is identical to such from Muslim N. Africa. Some Arabic writing as well (bottom of dome) referring to king and his vizier.
  • This small church is a great example of mix architecture styles.
