  • The kitchen of "Palazzo Branciforte" and his chef Billeci rejects mixtures between ingredients, flavors and fragrances for the sake of surprise. The components of the dishes are all from Sicily and from his memory: from fish, olive oil, herbs. And yet does not give up to surprise, as in seafood carbonara whose Binder has the color of the egg and is presented in an eggshell, but it comes with potato and saffron. The flavors and aromas are always crisp and recognizable. The high quality fish-fish-cube has a Breading with the scents of herbs in the countryside and in the mountains of Sicily. Raw palette has 11 different types of fish, made with elegance and well differentiated in the flavors: a gargantuan and precious plate. Hot apple cake is a masterpiece of perfection, which turns out miraculously from simple ingredients. The restaurant is a point of honor for the new Palermo that seems to attract new tourists less rushed and more aware and deserves some more customers than they've found in a lunch on a weekday. The wine list, with markups honest, gives evidence that Sicily, especially in white wines, is now well more than the third region of Italy. Special recognition to the girl from the beautiful tail imboccolata which followed my lunch with attention, kindness and cheerfulness discreet. Thank you.

  • Palazzo Branciforte, recently reopened to the public after restoration work operated by Gae Aulenti, offers a glimpse of life in Palermo until the early decades of the ' 900. This noble building, which later became the pawn of the "old clothes" has an internal structure of impressive racks wooden ladders on which were placed the cloths and kits brought a pledge from the poor. On these structures today are puppets and puppet opera backdrops. Charming
