  • If you are in Palermo for work study or pleasure, from the many opportunities that the city offers, I suggest you visit the local markets and among these, one of the most picturesque and ancient, the Capo market. Allocated in the heart of the old town is a destination for national and international tourists. It is here that you will find the beating heart of the city where, in addition to sample street food from Palermo, you can visit ancient churches and oratories in Baroque style. You can reach the market on foot or by public transport and you live the first few hours of the day; also because in the afternoon or evening activities are greatly reduced. It was the Augustinian monks who had their seat in the convent adjacent to the 14th century Church of Saint Augustine in popular first this old ward. One of the main entrances to the market is to close to the Porta Carini Palermo courthouse known with its famous piazza della "Memory" dedicated to all men and women are women who fell at the hands of the mafia. And watch the old alleys by particular names: via "flying Chairs", via "Scippateste", via "my pet". Everything from food to clothing and folk variety of merchandise. But above all, in addition to tastes and smells, you will hear the "vuci" (voices) with which various sellers "abbannianu" (have) their products. Seeing is believing. Wombat05

  • We visited Palermo in a hurry but the Capo market there has escaped! Very quaint and quirky. I recommend it to anyone wishing to see the real Palermo!

  • located within the same neighborhood, behind the Teatro Massimo. We depart from Porta Carini and go down via Porta Carini. By definition is the market of the people of Palermo and has maintained during the centuries the look of a Souk. There are large schools filled with fresh fish, meat of all qualities, clothes, furniture etc .... all that one wants.
